I listed this teardrop for sale last year. My daughter asked me to hold it for her, so I marked it as sold, now she has changed her mind about buying it. It is for sale again.
All steel frame, 5x9 1/2 ft. long.
Aluminum top and sides.
Weighs about 1100 pounds.
110 and 12 volt with A/C
14 in. wheels.

Oh boy, this one was a big temptation to me last fall . . . shipping out to me would be too expensive though. Dang.

Make a vacation of going and getting it. And then take your time coming back. It could be done easy in about 3 weeks, or less. :)

Actually not a bad idea -- want to go to Zion and Bryce this year, but not until late summer. Would be long gone by then!

I also live in California and looked into the cost for shipping (DAS Auto) as I considered buying this teardrop as well.

The quote I got was about $1700, which made it unfeasible (for me at least). I shipped a car from Philadelphia about 2 years ago for about $750, but trailers cost a lot more.

I met Jim and saw his second build at the Crossroads Gathering this past year, and he does quality work.
The sweet thing about his builds is the lack of wood framing. He's a professional metal worker, and it shows....

With steel framing, this trailer will be around for a long time.

Wish I was closer Jim, you've got it priced right.

Good luck on the sale,
Mark

Yes, no doubt -- I can tell it's built like a tank by a craftsman, and the price is definitely right. It would make a perfect first teardrop for me!

Thanks for the  Mark and Freddy. Freddy I know that is not your real name but I forgot your real one.
Teardrop is still for sale. Iowa is only half way across the country from Ca. I have no idea about shipping cost, have never shiped any thing like this.
We used this trailer for two years, before I built a new one. It has been towed about 6000 miles with never any problems. This trailer doesn't have to be stored inside. Only wood is in the floor, inside paneling and cabinets.

Hi Jim,

Cass is the real name, I guess I should change my avatar name but that is what I go under on the Honda Element forums. Ah well.

I do think from time to time of following Gage's advice and driving out to Iowa but I don't have the time right now -- it's my hope for your sake that you will have sold it for the asking price before I have the time! But if not, you'll be the first to know . . .

regarding shipping
I had a TD shipped from TX (outside of Dallas) to just south of Salem Oregon for 900. I could have gotten it for less on a car hauler, but I got the willies about my rig on a car hauler, and paid the extra money.
I used http://www.uship.com/ to find a hauler. you put in the height, weight, length, ship to/from zip codes, how much you want to pay and shippers get back to you. You HAVE to vet the individual shipper as Uship is just like an online dating service, complete will all the perils, only with something you already like on the line. The shippers are often folks looking to fill a load, or on the way home from a more lucrative haul and want to make some money on the way to or from.

Hi Jim,

I sent you a private message a few days ago, did you receive it? It was in my outbox for a few days but now it's not there anymore.

Thanks,

Cass

I am going to mark my teardrop for sale as sale pending as I told someone I would hold it for him until he can get here later this week.
