Well since the our first Winter Warrior has been retired to the garage for over a year I need to get it sold. Need the garage space and he needs a new family to go camping with.
He is 6 yrs old and needs a little work but is still campable. The worst problem is that his tires wear a little funny and might need a new axle, which is why we're only asking $1000.

He's 63" wide and 10' long and with the hatch up is 6'6" inside the back and 5' in the front. He weighs about 1900 lbs and has 13" wheels. We've towed him down to LCG 4 times and out to Cloud croft and Palo duro canyon so he's down some long distance runs. Has A 20 amp power cord and comes with deep cycle battery. He has 12 volts lights but also AC power. Has a cabinet for a smaller porta potty and a place for AC but the AC is in the new 12ft Winter Warrior now.
PM me for more details

AAAGGHH! My Subaru can only tow 1500 or I would be road tripping out with cash in hand..

Good Luck with the sale!

We originally towed him with a v6 Ranger and it did fine even over Powder Pass, but it would be a stretch for a Subaru. I over built him a little He has a 2x3 frame and the guy who built it built it like I was going to use it to haul a tractor on it. He also has 1" insulation in the walls and 1.5" in the roof. I took the idea of a winter camper seriously. We've camped down to 3 degrees with just a 1500 watt cube for heat that kept us more than warm and this is a full 5' by 10' open cabin with the hatch up. At first we had a 2 burner stove oven in him but soon found that we couldn't cook in side it got the trailer to hot except on the cold days. I still have the stove and would let it go with the camper if the new owner wanted it.

Just from the weight it sounds like you built him sturdy..

I spreadsheeted out a Wild Goose clone (1/8" bonded insulation sandwich walls) and it was close to 1500 dry weight so I didnt build it.

My Subie weighs 2600 lbs so it would be a bit dicey for even something @ 1500 (which amazingly is what Subaru says is the maximum) I have a 5x8 Tractor Supply trailer that I tow and it starts getting squirrely around 1300 lbs..

I do miss my Ranger in instances like this but dont miss the feeding..LOL Ill take 30 MPG average over 18 average any day..

If the tires are wearing funny, and it was stated probably needs a new axel, throw an axel on with brakes. Loaded proper, the Sub should handle it fine with brakes

Sorry I haven't gotten back in here sooner We went camping. The trailer has a torsion axle and I unfortunately hit a bump to hard once and bounced it pretty hard which is when the axle got messed up' but it does have brakes on it. We put them on before heading up to the mountain of WY.

Well logman I don't know if the Aztek has much more towing capacity than the Subaru. He's still sitting in the garage waiting though.

3000 lbs compared to 1500lbs rated towing capacity.. 3.4 liter compared to 1.8 liters And the Aztek weighs in at 3700 so more mass and a** to git er done.. :R To heck with the dino juice ill give up 6 MPG highway to get it..
