Found a trailer on Craigslist, thanks everyone!

We're looking to purchase any tiny trailer that's based on a 5' wide build. The maximum exterior dimensions we can do are 7'10"W x 7'H x 13'L, minimum interior dimensions are desired to fit at least a queen mattress. No preference on galley or accessories. Work needed on the interior is okay, but we prefer the exterior (weatherproofing, etc.) to be complete. Already wired would be awesome, but we can handle that too if not. We're in Illinois, and therefore a moderate drive from just about anywhere, so show us what you've got! Respond, private message, or email [email protected]. Thanks!

Why is a Queen Size mattress required? You’re only going to be spending a few nights at a time in it. Well, I guess you might be planning on living in it.

It's me, my husband, and our daughter; closer to a queen is much preferred to a double. I know dimensions are a little off from standard mattress measurements in these, but that's why we're looking at the 5' wide builds over the 4' wide ones.

We currently tent camp with a king air mattress :) It'd be nice to keep some of the elbow room in a tiny trailer too.

Well a Full Size is 4 1/2' wide. Then consider a bunk type setup for the daughter. That would allow for a little comfort for everyone and give a little more room/space for whatever. Something to think about.

I understand that trailers built on a 5' wide base will have mattresses that measure somewhere in between full and queen, but one built on a 4' base would lose a foot of width, and I'd really much rather not lose it :) Definitely have thought about the bunk/shelf idea! On a 4' wide though she'd outgrow that much quicker than a 5' wide. We'll just have to wait and see what comes along I suppose :)

You're right, a five wide is worth waiting for. I wouldn't trade ours for smaller. Have you checked the trailers for sale in "Destinations" up under the TD Friendly Websites? Sometimes there are some really interesting looking traillers offered for sale. :D

If I may contribute my observations....Most 5-wides are 60" exterior width. Which means a 60" mattress will not fit. Sounds like a custom build is what you are looking for. Also, 900# is gonna be tough for a 5 wide. Probably closer to 1100-1200#. And that is pretty minimal built. Is 900# your final, ready-to-tow weight, including groceries, cookware, clothing and bedding, or empty weight? What wiring and voltage are you looking for? Anyway...sent you a PM. :D

Looks like most everyone misunderstood what I was saying. I have nothing against 5' wide teardrops. Mine is 5' wide. But my interior is 57" wide. A full size mattress is 54" wide which leaves an inch and a half on each side to tuck in the sheets and blankets. You don't even notice the missing 6". My teardrop is 5' x 10' and weighs about 1100 lbs. dry. If you go beyond 5' wide outside dims, it starts getting a little pricy. Just my take on it.

Yeah, I'm not feeling like we need a total custom, just a 5-wide, not 4 :)
