Gosh I Need A Teardrop... UPDATE: Finally Found One! Thanks!

Ok, I've been looking for about a year, I'm in the southeast in ATL GA and teardrops are few and far between down here. I check here often but the right one in the right location just hasn't happened.

I would like something home made with a bit of personality, 4x8 or 5x8, roof vent or fan, galley just needs to be present but nothing fancy, electrical isn't necessary but would be nice if it's there, windows that open would be nice, two doors would be great but not a requirement, metal skinned would be something I would like but I know in my price range I won't see it too often. I would be willing to drive 2 or 350mi to get the right one. Price range $1500-3000 (preferably under 3k closer to 2500)

Help a sister out.

UPDATE: After a year I finally decided on factory made for my first one, resale could be better and there might be fewer surprises and maybe less future work. Settled on a 2010 Little Guy 5 wide. Found a more than decent deal in my area and jumped. It wasn't what I intended when I started this hunt but I feel pretty comfortable with it now that I have it. I sacrificed some of the 'cute' and personality that I wanted but I think for my first this is a good way to go.

Hope to see some of you out camping soon. Thanks for all of your suggestions.

Thanks I have seen this one it just doesn't move me in any way, it just seems so utilitarian. I've been keeping a close eye on CL in the southeast and I've let a couple slip away since it's so hard to this long distance (at least for me it is).

thanks, for looking out though.

There are two companies in your area that make them. They are both priced a bit higher than your price range though.

We're currently having Bobby Morgan at Teddybear Teardrops build us one. I can't say enough nice things about him and his trailers. I don't think you can find a better built wooden teardrop without doing it yourself. I know that he currently has a 4 X 8 unit finished and ready to roll now.

Also, there is Hillcrest Teardrops in the Atlanta area. I spoke with them and they seem to be real nice people also.

This listing is still active on Craigslist. Might still be available. Looks like the hardest work is done. You could finish it as you wished & maybe keep it in your price range.

Good luck with your search.
