I would love to build my own teardrop but I simply don't have enough confidence in my skills to feel like I'd wind up with a worthy product. So my options are to A) buy a used trailer, B) buy an assembly line product like Little Guy, or C) find a builder who'd be willing to work with me on a quality build that could be somewhat customized. I'd love to go with option C but as I've been looking (and noted in an earlier post), there simply aren't a lot of options in this part of the country (Raleigh, NC). There are so many more options in the upper Midwest and the far west.
If you know of any small builders who are working in the Southeast or Mid Atlantic regions, I'd love to know of them. I've been looking around for a while and don't seem to come across any. I'd like to work with someone within a reasonable driving distance (meaning 4-5 hours, preferably less ... but you gotta do what you gotta do). For context, Raleigh is about 4-5 hours from the Washington DC-Northern Va.-Maryland area, about 2-1/2 hours from Richmond, 6 hours from Atlanta, 5 hours from the Tennessee border, and about 6.5 hours from Jacksonville in north Florida.
