We are selling our 2008 Silver Shadow 5'x8' teardrop. We are the second owners of the trailer - we purchased it through this forum! This is an incredibly clean, meticulously maintained, always garage stored teardrop.

$5500 OBO

The original owner purchased the teardrop in 2008 direct from Little Guy as a Silver Shadow Cargo version - basically a Silver Shadow minus the galley. It came from Little Guy with the 12V package (including battery box on tongue, interior and galley lights, interior 12V outlets, Fantastic Fan roof vent), and the attached 10'x10' PahaQue side tent. It also has LED exterior lights. The original owner built a simple bulkhead with a small shelf on the cabin side, and a countertop, ledge shelf, and drawer on the galley side. He used a Little Guy tri-fold foam mattress. He also added two 120V outlets in the galley connected to the factory installed 120V exterior hook-up.

We purchased the teardrop in early 2010. We partially disassembled the bulkhead to put in a new Denver Mattress full-size regular bed mattress. When re-installing the bulkhead we moved the lower section back about 2" (I'm 6'4"). We decided not to re-install the drawer as it did not fit our needs. Then we removed the ledge shelf and installed a grid wall so we could use modular baskets and bungees for galley storage. We switched the pigtail from 7-prong to 4-pin flat connector.

In late 2010 we installed reverse lights; $20 Wallyworld fog lights installed in the ends of the hitch a-frame. A watertight enclosure was added to the battery box to hold a relay and fuse for the reverse lights and a voltmeter to monitor the battery. Then changed the connector from 4-pin flat to 5-pin flat. (The 5-pin will plug into a 4-pin flat vehicle connector - our vehicle has a 5-pin flat connector.) The 5th wire is connected to the vehicle reverse lights (this is standard wiring, it's used on boat trailer to lock out surge brakes when backing up). This closes the relay to power the reverse lights off the trailer battery. A great addition for those who head out to camping spots nights after work!

In 2011 when returning from a camping trip we hit road debris, the tow vehicle threw up something that hit the passenger side fender and put a good sized dent in it. Surprisingly nothing else on the trailer was hit or damaged (unfortunately it did a number on the vehicle). A new aluminum fender from Little Guy is $45, I just never got around to replacing it as the damage is really just cosmetic.

In 2012 we replaced the battery, put on two new tires, and repacked the wheel bearings. The battery is an Exide RV/Marine deep cycle (Group 24 I think). The tires are Tow-Master radial trailer tires in the lowest weight rating I could find (this size tire has too high of a standard weight rating for how light these trailers are, so I found the lowest weight rating tire in this size I could to help the trailer ride better). And I had the installer balance the tires. This trailer tows like a dream - almost floats down the road with very little bounce and soaks up bumps!

In 2013 we replaced the small cabin shelf with a much deeper shelf. This became my sons "bunk crib" in the middle (uses a changing table pad for a mattress), and has two nice sized storage areas on each side. Since then we have had our second son -- we're now too big of a family to fit in our beloved teardrop! We love this teardrop and hate to see it go!

The teardrop has always been washed and vacuumed after every use, garage stored with the battery maintained and tires turned every month. It is very clean and in very good shape. One taillight bracket is a little loose, I think it needs new/longer screws. There is one piece of weatherstripping on the upper inside of the hatch that needs to be glued down and the weatherstripping on the lower part of the hatch is loose in a couple spots, 5 minutes with a tube of weatherstrip adhesive will solve this. It has none of the leakage problems as seen on some Little Guys. It's ready to hitch up, load up, and head out camping.

Located just northwest of Austin in Cedar Park. Please come take a look and make me an offer. If you would like additional pictures, please ask. I may be able to help with shipping/delivery arrangements.
