Hi All,

I read somewhere about some roof sealant tape, thought it might not be a bad idea to put some on the seams of the Weekender roof. Anybody have any for sale before I order a new roll?

Thanks,

AL in Asheville

No, I'll have to look for it, been awhile. As I recall this was very sticky stuff, but was made just for RV's. Someone on the forum had described it. I'll have to do some more research.

Thanks, AL

What you want is this Butyl Putty Tape.

I used when I patched a hole in the roof of my standy and it has held up perfectly. Not easy to apply on a hot day or hot surface. Keep it in the fridge before applying.

You might be looking for butyl tape.

One of many sources. I have no clue who the manufacturer is. Like anything, the quality of the product can be quite different no matter what generic name is on the packaging.

Eternabond is the stuff to use if a seam is already assembled. Butyl tape is great for use when assembling a roof, wall, etc. It sticks to just about anything.

Hi All,

This is for the camper I built 4-5 years ago now, weekender shaped, so it has seams where the flat pieces meet. I used some sort of putty at the time, and I painted with the epoxy paint, but looking for the type of roof tape that would go on after-the-fact, just to make certain we're good. I've actually never had it in much water. I store it in the garage, and even when I take it out, if it rains, I put it under the EZ-up Canopy.

AL, the Eternabond will do the job. We had an old Class C years ago that had leaks around the corners of the cab over section. Wrapping the corners with Eternabond eliminated the leaks. I painted over the white with almond paint that matched the RV color very well.
