Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

A lady I know wants this gone. I believe this would be a great basis for a 5'X10' teardrop. The tires hold air but I would trailer it home any way. The box is six feet wide by ten feet long. this is a used (1965?)trailer and although the trailer could be repaired with a little work the trailer would never be a show piece. My suggestion is to use the title and frame to build a new tear drop. You would have lots of parts to build a new one with, stove propane bottle, sink, window, foam cushions, ect.. this trailer is located a little east of Placerville, CA. All the paper work is ready to go(per DMV). This would also make a great utility trailer, be my guess it has a 2000# axle under it.

Might not be a show piece but would be a real comfy trailer in the cool or wet,, I believe I would rework it and if ya didnt like it sell and buy a frame and wood and parts,, or keep it and have two,, sure wish it was on the south east coast,, dat puppy would have a new home

Actually, it looks like a real shame to see such a grand trailer being at risk - it looks like a late 60s Shasta Compact to me. I've contacted Bev T to see if she can help find someone who would like to have the trailer just as it is.

I'm all in favour of cutting up old pop-ups, but this trailer, unless it's rotten right through, looks like it's on the verge of being a classic.

Is this a British thing? Can you guys cut up your recent history without a regret?

I agree completely. I wish I were closer, I would bring it home in a minute. My wife would kill me but what the heck. I think that would be a very nice trailer to start a restoration with.

this is a stand-up trailer, it is unlikely to fit through a standard garage door---that is unless you turn it into a tear

I'm going to take it, so you all stay away from it now, ya hear. I've been looking for a 10 foot stand-up Benroy for a couple of years now, but this one will do. There were only 10 of the Benroys made but one was distroy'd before it could hardly be used and one went to Texas, so that left 8 in California somewhere.

This one looks to be in to good of condition to be sawing it up for a teardrop so my plans are to restore it and use it for what it is. Just waitting for Will to get back to me.

Yea, but I can leave here the day after tomorrow and still beat you there. Well, as long as you drive to California. Boy, have I got plans for that trailer, already I'm thinking of things to do to it. The second thing would be to put the stove outside on a pullout.
