Custom Smittybuilt Camper
Posted: Tue Feb 12, 2019 12:43 pmNew custom camper, pop top, roof top tent ? Built this in the fall and took it to Florida. Slept in for 9 nights. Family obligations canceled the trip. Weight is approximately 600 pounds. Started with a harbor freight 4 x 8 and chopped down to 4 x 5. Added a 2 inch tongue that runs the length of the frame which is roughly 8 feet. Upgraded to a Dexter axle (2000 pounds). Set up in minutes. Storage underneath was constructed with phenolic laminated sign board. Body was rolled with epoxy and then covered in truck bed liner. Pulled it 3200 miles with a 4 cylinder Chevy Sonic. Listed on Craigslist for 1200.00 but will consider offers. A portion of the selling price will be donated to this forum.
