Saw this TD on eBay, thought the front kitchen was different:
...MY Jim Dandy
Sure wouldn't want to have to straddle the tounge when cooking though!

It looks like Jim Dandy to me. Anyone know what it might be worth (Gage or Grant)?

Yah, saw that too.

I wondered when those owners have a rear kitchen TD with the counter top deep set, bending to reach. Then look at this, with a drop down front cover, probably some 18" deep, sets the owner way back. My back is sore enough from just working in the yard, can't imagine the ache for reaching into the kitchen area.

Notice, no windows in the back, just the side. Wouldn't be cool to have those VW rear windows back there.

What if ya made a removable tongue ? I think it would work, you would have to have 2 stabilizers in the front to level the trailer but it could work. I think the tongue would have to be a 3 point contact to the frame, with removable pins on the side frame some how. Any thoughts out there??

How about making the tongue pivot, with a center lock.

Get to camp, un pin it, push the front of the tear to the side, and relock.

You'd probably only forget to set it straight before moving one time...

Hey Rob , is that from expierence ???
The same with a removable tongue , what if some one ran off with your tongue after removing it , or you missplaced it around camp? It would be a tough tow home `! :x

Roly uses a removeable tongue. When he gets into camp he replaces it with a wooden one to confound the quizzers who stop by. He even has a wooden stub and ball to mount it to. I can only imagine some of their expressions!!!!!

Is it possible that the drop down on the Jim Dandy was a standing platform. That hatch is awfully high, it looks like there would be room to stand there. If you did, that cabinette would be very low. Im thinking that if I were ever to build one, I would figure out how to make it possible to stand up on the platform.

A friend has a 20' ski boat with a removeable tongue - the boat trailer that is, not him. It has a pin just like a trailer hitch on the tow vehicle. He has to remove the tongue to fit it in the garage for the winter. Works well for him.

Nah, I'd never do anything like that
Well, at least in my past...

Pulled a good one today though, drove away from the shop, then realized I'd forgotten to tell my guys something, so backed up and hopped out.
One of them looked at me kind of funny, before he could say anything I looked over my shoulder and saw the truck following me toward the garage...
I hopped back in and corrected my mistake.

I forgot to take it out of reverse... hope I never do that again :worship:
