Hi all:
Been a quiet summer trailer wise, busy work wise.
I've booked into Bon Echo on the first weekend in October. Maybe the mosquitos will have flown south by then. Hope to have a close-up look at the pictographs.
Anyone care to join me (and the wife), please feel free to do so. I've booked into Sawmill Bay, site 147. Hope it will be a little flatter than the site I had this spring (site 143 on the side of a hill). Campsites can be had with electricity for heaters if its' too cold...not much a concern these days.
Hope to stir up some interest with the Ontario group.

Hey Sandy - If I got my wood cut and in (and don't lose any limbs) We'll see if it in the cards - sounds like fun.

We might be able to fit it in...will you book a set of sites, or do we all just aim for the same general area. We won't need electrical.

Mountainbiker:
I only booked the one site, based on the location I was at in the spring (close to the water and quiet). I chose the electrical just in case, but there are a variety of spots in that loop, both electrical and non.
Hope to see you there.
Sandy

Which dates...It looks like we will be there barring any unforseen difficulties. Are you looking at Friday to Sunday, or just Sat / Sun

Norm:
I think this will be the last outing for me this year (unless the weather holds, or I win the lotto). Can't seem to find free time on the weekends this year (darn job keeps getting in the way of fun).
If you are planning something make sure to let me know...might be able to wriggle free of commitments if the right offer comes along.
Jawbone:
I believe that any dessert cooked over coals at a campsite is calorie free, (if you stand while eating it). Hope you can make it.

Ok, so I may just be able to make it up, solo, on Saturday late morning and stay one or two nights.... it's a 4 hr drive from Cornwall according to Google Maps.
How late can one arrive and still get in? ie: Friday night

Norm:
This from the Ontario Parks website:
CHECK IN/CHECK OUT TIMES
Q: What are the check-in and check-out times at Ontario’s provincial parks?
A: Check-in time is 2 p.m. on the day of arrival. Campers must check-out before 2 p.m. on their day of departure. The latest arrival time is 8 a.m. following the scheduled day of arrival.
Q: Can I arrive at the park after hours for car camping?
A: Yes. If you arrive after the park office is closed, you may proceed directly to your campsite and quietly set up your campsite so as not to disturb other campers. Please check-in at the park office the following morning when it opens. If you plan to arrive after 8:00 a.m. on the second day of your reservation, please notify the park in advance.
Looks like you can quietly slip into your reserved site during the night and do your check in the next morning. Hope you can make it.
Sandy
