Wow, Sharon, you are going to scare the newbies, with all of that preparation stuff. Good for you, bringing everything except the kitchen sink. I hope I can camp next to you, since my prep items are so scant, I often have to impose on my neighbors in order to get stuff to cook a meal. That usually gets me invited to share their prime rib dinner and camp fire. However, I am getting better at it, since I have a very short check list, lets see, bacon, eggs, coffee and wine. Good enough for a single camper, just wanting to make friends and maybe, even get invited back for breakfast.
8) :? :R ;) Roly, ~~

I know, I know. I get that way sometimes. But, last summer, I was going on the biggest, longest driving trip that I had ever been on, 3 weeks and over 5,000 miles, just me and my dog, and I was very nervous about that. So, I made lists about everything, just to be safe.

Anyway, I figured that if someone took the time to read, they might see something that they forgot. Since I still had the lists, I posted them. :)

A corkscrew for those that can afford wine with corks in it $>

Thanks, Steve. That might be listed as a "cooking" utensil(?) Many people will appreciate that you added that one.
...Don't drink much these days. My last bottle of wine was in the 'frig for over a year before I finished it.

Come on Steve
You are a Canadian! When was the last time you used a corkscrew?
Everyone knows that Canadians never put the top back on a bottle once it has been opened!
We just push the cork all the way in.
"Glass size is guaged by the size of a the bottle right? :wine: But we both know that Canadians don't USE glasses either when camping! :R

OMG!  :wine:

That might not be such a bad idea for camping...just buy those little individual sized bottles with the screw caps.

Yeah I remember taking a screwdriver to shove the cork in the bottle, always have to keep the bottle tilted up so the cork would float
Now that I'm a refined and upstanding Canadian I buy the bottles with screw tops
I had a friend that put a half bottle of booze back in the fridge once Needless to say that friendship didn't last too long
He couldn't have been a Canadian as we finish our booze and we don't drink light beer

I'm assuming that you are joking, Steve, because those sound like the comments of an alcoholic.

OK, I just want to remind a few in packing that you might want to keep in mind if you are on a trip it might be difficult to pull all that stuff off the bed to sleep so when packing remember you might give a tour or need to pull over and sleep and pulling out the table chairs, ezup and all the rest of the stuff might be ..........................just a thought. Beverlyt mentioned it way back in the early part of the General Discussion Page 300 something????????

That's a very good point, Mary! If I had loaded up the inside with a chairs and such, it might have been a problem on the night that I slept overnight in the freeway rest area!

Well done Mary C.
Nice to see you getting this thread back on track before Sharon starts taking Steve seriously.
But, for what it worth....the corkscrew was the first thing Sandi put on her packing list.
And last weekend when we were in the USA we bought some very cool plastic wine glasses with removable stems for camping. :wine:
