63 low liner aristocrat

Postby Kathy53 » Fri May 17, 2013 2:42 pm

It is offical I have gone crazy. I have a nice trailer never mind that it weighs more than I wanted or should be pulling with my outback. I have spotted a 63 low liner aristocrat trailer. Outside looks alright but need new cushions inside, needs the nasty rug pulled up and needs new paneling. I am seriously looking at buying it. It may take me awhile to get it fixed up. Menwhile I will use my plamore to camp around where I live, meanwhile. I don't know about taking it to Sly Park as the elevation is around 3500. It does not have electric brakes that CA requires and I really don't want to get a new vehicle I like my outback. I figure I could sell my plamor and use that money to get the aristocrat fixed up. Maybe have someone fix the aristrcrat and take my trailer for payment. Not that I think that would happen. Maybe 300lb is not that much of a difference. 79 plamor 1600, 63 Aristocrat 1300. Big difference in height. I can touch the top of the Aristocrat and can not the Plamor.

The Lo-Liner is a great little trailer. My folks bought one, new, in 64 and towed it all over the country. My brother and I were working at a trailer plant, later on in 72 or so and we installed a refrigerator in it for them. My Mom always loved to come out, when camping with friends, eating a Popsicle.
I'm certain theirs had brakes. I remember the old style controller on the steering column of my Dad's truck. I guess they may have been optional. It wouldn't be hard to put brakes on it for a few hundred bucks. I'd love to get my hands on a nice Lo-Liner.

When I checked on line it said that the 12 ft low liner weighed 1,300, Copy of an ad. Well when this one was weighed it came up 1,660. So I will not be buying it. Carl if you are interested in it let me know and I will give you his info.

As much as I'd love to jump on it, the queue of projects, right now, is too long. Plus, my next trailer is going to be a homebuilt.
