I'm not licensed in Colorado, however here is some general advice that should help. Anything unique is difficult for a carrier to insure. Seriously, if there is only one out there then it is difficult to determine value. Here are some methods.
1. If you are doing an inexpensive trailer then look at your home owner's policy. Some policy provide limited coverage to a trailer.
2. Recycle a frame and have the trailer register the frame. Use an old pop up or something similar.
3. A professional build frame with a registration number.
4. If the insurance company allows then insure it using a endorsement under a specified towing vehicle.
Despite mine being a limited run, I used three and four to get an inexpensive rate. If I was needing something more robust due to living in for long duration then I would spend a little more for a stand alone policy.Work with an Agent, we can do unusual things for example, I had a request the other week to insure a homemade pontoon boat.
