After spending a few days working on my store-bought TT....

Postby hwitten » Sat May 25, 2013 9:18 pm

First weekend after getting my ProLite Suite home.
While doing some tweaks here and there I had a good look at the innards and also frame, etc. To me, the trailer is very efficiently built. Nothing super-special that could not me done by a dedicated home-builder. However, I confirmed to myself that I made the right decision to buy since I'll be camping this summer, and not 1 or 2 years down the road. Maybe even 3 since I'm so darn fussy and hard on myself. Turning 70 later this year, a build would have taken up some precious travelling/camping time.

Now I have time to travel/camp and also to putter some to personalize my oversized store-bought TearDrop/TinyTrailer cross-over :)

The big question will be wether I made the right choice going Tiny versus Small Trailer after being used to 26 feet of GMC MH. Regardless, the only way to be sure was to try it and the Suite fit my specs of today. The specs were actually quite simple: A place to sleep, a place to sit, no set up needed and nothing wider than the car. I figure by the end of summer I'll know whether I made the right choice :)

After much soul-searching, I decided not to buy but to build. It was the only way to get what I wanted.

See http://www.emmittsteardropadventures.net for details. Start of blog through mid-December is dedicated to TD; after that, bird photos until recent resumption of work on TD.

I too bought mine. knowing I am not too patient figured I would get less than halfway through a build then buy one or give up completely.
I hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine
