Next Project?? Possibly

Postby prohandyman » Sun Jun 02, 2013 2:52 pm

Ok...fell in love with this model. Have the perfect frame for it. I am getting some assistance from a local metal worker for hot rods on the curved corners for the aluminum top. Have no idea what the interior was but will improvise as needed. Custom windows will be required.
107543 may have to square off the top instead of radiusing!

I have an interior layout picture of this trailer on my home computer. I will find the photos and post them for you when I get home.

Isn't that a Hollywood Nomad? I really like the lines, but like you, it's a tough one to build. It could be done with cold molded ply however, but it's not an easy one to do. Good luck with it, I'm sure you'll crank out a beauty Dan! I could be wrong on it, but I believe that they had some car door type roll down windows in it. Doug

A big english wheel and some panel beating tools. Get her done in no time. I know a guy that could probably do it. If you don't mind hiring illegal emigrants. I have seen some amazing things he has done. Stuff that the guys in the town shops said could not be done and he does it with some primitive tools.

That would be an amazing trailer. Would look real nice behind a 51 Ford sedan I have my eye on. One from my dad's collection.

Of all the standees, this one is my favorite shape as it looks like an overgrown teardrop with some flair.
Good luck with the build Dan.
It will be interesting to see how it turns out.

That is freakin' cool! If all else fails, do it in foam and 'glass.

Well I can not find any of my pictures that I had for the Hollywood Nomad. :(

I had a folder with several pictures, but it must have got deleted. I had found pictures of a brochure that had several photos and information on this trailer.

I looked on the net, but can not find any of the pictures that I once found. Does anyone else have pictures?

Waiting for "someday" will leave you on your deathbed wondering why you didn't just rearrange your priorities and enjoy the time you had, instead of waiting for a "better" time to come along...

Well after searching the web I was able to finally find some of the pictures from the Hollywood Nomad Trailer brochure. These are not the original photos that I had found before. I could only find three of the pages of the brochure on a poster art website. They did not have all the pages of the brochure, there were a few more pages that showed more of the inside and a floor plan. At least I found these and it should help if you ever decide to try to build one.
