Help me helpo a friend identify this standie...

Postby TRP » Sat Aug 24, 2013 11:24 am

Hey Gang,

A friend of mine owns this trailer (see below) - I'm trying to help him identify it.

111448

Any ideas?
Thanks

Scotty? It's got the fancy wheel well like the Scotty's.

Hopefully Gage will chime in, he knows some of the older ones pretty well. Thing is, there were so many manufacturers and many were short lived with a number of profiles. Some careful paint stripping if it's got newer coats on it might reveal some shadow from an original name badge assuming he plans a new paint job on it though. No title huh? Doug

Is this trailer in the Bay area? Just thinking...it would be about period correct for the tow vehicle in the pic and the painted stripe appears like it would be right. I'm thinking it could be a Little Ceasar. They were made in Sebastapol Ca. back in the late 40's early 50's.

I think Doug is correct in suggesting it may be a Little Caesar. Here is a link I found showing a 1952 polished Little Caesar and even the stripe on the side is identical. Hope the link works!

I wanna hang a map of the world in my house. Then I'm gonna put pins into all the locations that I've traveled to. But first, I'm gonna have to travel to the top two corners of the map so it won't fall down.

You guys are amazing! Yeah, the trailer was picked up near Sacramento. It's currently being kept near San Francisco.

I'll let the owner know what you have found.

Thanks!

Steve E just picked up a '49 Little Ceasar from a neighbor...well, he will have it in a couple of weeks, needs a total redo. Nice to find the obscure trailers. Doug
