Is there a US source for antiluce fasteners?

Postby Treeview » Thu Sep 05, 2013 9:34 am

I've seen these used but I have no clue where to purchase them. They seem common in the UK but NOT in the US.

Maybe there's a different name for them???

http://www.ebay.com/sch/sis.html?_nkw=2 ... M8-x-20mm-

or you could email one of the aus or uk suppliers and see about purchasing them directly from them.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Gus

Thanks Gus...I found all sorts of overseas vendors which I may have to use. I know that we live in a global market but it seems like they should be here. Flying bits and bobs of iron like this around the world makes so little sense to me :(

Yeah but you gotta admit that the ability to find and buy whatever you want from around the world is cool. We needed an adapter to turn the throttle body 180 degrees on a Subaru engine we installed in a VW bug. We found it in the UK, communicated with the vendor via email, paid by either credit card or PayPal and had it within a week or so. That is cool.

Cheers,

Gus

Gus,

YOur story is exactly the sort of thing that amazes me about the times we live in!

I've done the same thing too. Beyond getting 'stuff' I've met people on the 'Net who have later become dear personal friends. And we're separated by timezones and international boundaries. but, we're as close to each other as the distance from fingertips to keyboard. Whew...mind boggling to think about the trip from England to Australia in the early 1800's...six months plus!

They are just a form of knob with a built in retention structure. I'd try at a fastener supplier. I know I've seen them on American made equipment.

I've googled and looked at hundreds of hits but no fastener supplier in the US lists them by this name. There might be another name but I haven't found it. I posted this on WoodCentral too and no one in the US came up with a source either
