True, you can't just toss it around. With what it cost I'm very careful how I handle it.
It has a fuel cut off, not sure if it's factory original or was installed with the conversion.
It also has a carb drain.

The advantage of fuel cutoff is more o keep the carb empty to resist varnishing of the fuels he carb....

The only reason for a generator in my seldom humble opinion is to power an AC. We use propane to heat water for a french press coffee maker and everything else is battery. If I wanted short amounts of power in excess of what is available I would run the TV and pull from the alternator. No additional weight no separate gas supply and a lot less noise.
I hate the sound of a generator.

Reference what GerryS said about the wart on the side. This is the regulator you need to run on natural gas or propane. I solved that problem by mounting it on a seperate plexiglass sheet that I slip under the generator and then hook the flex hose that comes out of the end of the generator. I purchased by generaator to use in other ways besides camping. I like to fly electric model aircraft and often don't have power where I may fly so I can leave the regulaor at home and run on gasoline. When going where there is no power or sun bring it all. I plan on spending some time in Arizona/Nevada during warm weather so thought the generator would be nice as I have a/c in the trailer.

Hope this helps with whether a generator is right for you or not.

I purchased mine for home backup, run the sump pump and a fan....as well as camping. But to this date I hasn't seen the camper except to see of it can run the AC :)

It does....flawlessly.
