sold my off road trailer

Postby hugh » Mon Nov 18, 2013 8:27 pm

Well I was going to strip my little off road trailer but based on advice from friends at home and also from members on this site it was put up for sale. It sold for $1800 in 2 weeks and since i was going to build a bit larger to fit the wife and i plus up to 2 grandkids I decided to look at factory made trailers. Heaven help me but I bought a used 18 foot terry that has a bathroom, fridge, stove ,etc and sleeps 6 for $1800. The wife and grandkids are excited, but i think I will continue to plan and eventually build myself a nice small easy to tow trailer. With what I learned from reading posts on this site plus personal experience the next one is going to get a lot of thought in it,s design. The terry is nice but with the sheer size of it it won,t be going more than a few hundred miles from home. It is in good condition though and even came with 4 brand new tires. Which makes me think the next home made just might get dual axles also.

Hugh, congratulations and I am sure the grand kids and your wife will be happier. You can always design and build a new off road trailer in the future. We have a teardrop and two pop up campers. I use the pop up camper at the coast. The Pop up camper with A/C at some pop up camper rallies. The teardrop when it is just the two of us camping away from the coastline. Don't have a TT but maybe one day ;)
