AC and furnace cut outs

Postby Treeview » Thu Dec 12, 2013 7:53 pm

Now I'm planning the installation of the furnace and AC in the ToyBox. The logical place is on the left side of the stretch. It's just like the right side:

One plan that I have is to mount the furnace and AC on their own slide in shelves. Since I'm unlikely to need both on the same trip, or neither as the case may be, I'd only have to make one hole in the left wall.

Now...to mount them high or low?

For convenience mounting the shelf high makes sense. This may trump the physics of HVAC. The furnace is from an RV and has duct oulets on the plenum so I can actually move air around the ToyBox.

Is there an overwhelming reason to mount them high or low? Since the TB is so small I don't think that it would make a big difference.

My experience is that the where is not as important as the how.
I have a pair of three speed computer case fans in place of a Fantastic Fan and they sit some what below the Fantastic Fan housing this means I can keep the vent closed and there is some circulation with in the cabin.

Uh huh! Your solution is definitely one that got me thinking...and might be the solution I pursue.

I've camped on the MN/Ontario border in mid-Feb at minus 35 so cold is no stranger to me.

Having a little comfort if I have company who isn't as hardy as I am would be nice 8)
