Typical max width for an MC trailer to be safely seen around is 36" (assuming that is tall enough to effect rear view vision through the mirrors), though a small handful of them have been built at 42" and pulled safely. Unless I had extra-wide-set mirrors, I wouldn't even think of trying to pull a 48" wide teardrop behind a motorcycle, even though it might have plenty of go and whoa power. BTW ... I've built a few teardrops specifically to be pulled behind motorcycles ... it can be a challenge to find the room for all your needs, believe me!
