Yeah we aren't much for couch sitting. :D [as he sits on the couch typing this]
We were quite a ways out in the desert. I am not sure why we were out there… and we were stuck.. stuck good… and unlike getting stuck here in snow.. no amount of shoveling was getting us to firm ground or traction. :o It did give us time to work on the funky malfunctioning tail lights however… We did eventually figure out the wiring, and get ourselves unstuck… although I don't really remember how  8)

Life is certainly an "adventure" fer us adventurous souls. You got stuck, yet "fixed" a different prollen and still got the initial prollen solved...( prolly due to yer Marine Corps trainin ) and most likely from yer "problem solvin" adventurous personality.

Them VWs can go almost anywhere, specially them buses with their reduction geared trans. I bet you wish you still had the bus...On to the next adventure !

Yeah I didn't think it was "cool" to die in the desert and not have my tail lights working. :? 8)

ahh yes I do wish I still had the bus. It wasn't particularly safe, and there wasn't any heat… but it was one of my favorite vehicles. It did get to see Maine. I drove it home from there. I burned some exhaust valves and ran it mostly on 2 cylinders from NY.

It did eventually get rebuilt.. and rebuilt well. I had a friend of a friend that raced V dubs and was switching over to bigger cars.. so I got some parts cheap. bigger pistons and jugs, dual port heads, a 2 barrel Holly… along with some other goodies. It made a fun vehicle even more fun. :D
