I bought and installed one of these and whilst it was ok as a vent, the fan was useless.

I ended up replacing it with a fantastic vent. Save yourself some $$$ and just get one you'll be hsppy with in the long run.

We had one of those in a bathroom in a 23' Class C. I thought \it made more noise than move air. I bit the bullet one day and replaced it with a Fantastic. Kicked myself for months after that for not replacing it earlier. Sold it on ebay for $20.

What it comes down to is that an un-ducted fan like that has trouble moving room air out as it "leaks air" all around itself because of all that open space around it. Hope you catch the meaning... Look at a fantastic fan... the circular fan blades are surrounded by solid material. When the fan in a Fantastic turns air must be moved through the fan.

I agree with both these guys. Get the Fantastic fan now and be done with it. You'll be glad you did.

Translucent = early wake up
Lousy fan, fixable with replacement with computer case fans.
We have a fantastic fan (which many have had to slow down using a PWM converter or resistors) housing with two three speed Antec Computer case fans.

I put this one in my Tear:

While not as nice as the Fantastic Fan, It moves the air and is cheaper. With the roof fan on and the windows open, you can actually feel the air being sucked into the windows.

We have one in our Midget. Terrible fan. Like others say it is very noisy and doesn't move any air. We will be replacing soon with a fantastic vent. I'm building a screen door so we can get more air flow on those warm nights.

I bought one and have used it for several seasons so far. I have no problems with mine. It appears to move plenty of air for me, sucks in enough air to bring my curtains in a ways, and although the fan is about 3 feet from my head I don't mind it. As a matter of fact I have used it on many occasions as "white noise" to block out the sound of noisy or drunk campers next door. I much prefer the steady state hum of the fan over the sounds of laughter, or off color jokes, while I'm trying to fall asleep.
