I really recommend following the manufacturer's instruction on this one.

I have had really mixed results using tube-type adhesives on FRP. The instructions are quite specific, and if you were to get the same coverage, it is a lot cheaper to use the stuff they tell you to use. FRP has quite a bit of expansion and contraction with heat and cold, and many adhesives do not have the elasticity to handle the changes.
