Starting over.

Postby coyote » Fri Nov 15, 2013 12:42 pm

I don't post much, don't know much. But, I'm a bit frustrated. I'm close to putting up sides and making some visual impact. Towed basic frame to work yesterday to weld on a little bracket. Asked and received permission for everything. BAM, an employee ran a company 1 ton truck over the back of it!
Hooked to car on front, duelleys on top of rear, axle as fulcrum. Well, my welds held, but whew...I can't save much more than my new Monroe's and tires. ( plus the guy tried to drive off)
Oh, I know insurance, it'll be ok. But. . . . On the positive, I guess I can fix any of those "I wish I had of. . . " and it wasn't my car or a group of first graders. I sure thought of whoever it was that got rear ended on his.
Thanks, I just needed to vent a bit. Dave

Bummer!!! I feel for ya. Now you can make any changes but is is your time and work that cant be recovered, it makes an impact in every day things when something in your life is destroyed in a second. Did you get any pictures?

Good luck on the next one.

Yeah, lost all those hours of engineering, but it will go faster, and the thinking part has been done. "They" got images. When I get it figured out I will put one on here. dave

Man, I didn't see that coming. Glad it wasn't further along too. What was he thinking? :scratchthinking:

Good luck on your rebuild, at least you know that the welds will be good.

Well, almost back together. Got a new frame, boxed It, installed shock mounts, cleaned/packed wheel brgs, moved axle back. 11 days and I'm back to where I was. Well, a 1/2hour of welding or so. Then uncharted territory! Need to take it to work to do that welding but, I think I'll go after the day crew leaves! Dave
