Finally!!!

Postby Terri » Sun Sep 21, 2014 8:58 pm

I always wanted to build my own camper but when I found a cute little vintage one, Joe and I thought it might be easier to just buy it and fix it up to our liking. Unfortunately, when we started to take it apart, we realized that there was water damage beyond repair and it would be best to pull it all apart and build our own from scratch. What were we thinking? Seriously, it took all summer for us to build our new camper. We didn't really have the time to take on this project, we also didn't have a garage, just our dirt driveway, which made things so much worse. We got really good at judging the distance of rain storm down to the minute and were able to cover the structure with tarps in 45 sec. flat. Anyway, it was a lot of work and we are super happy that it is all done. Nothing is square, there are more crooked pieces than straight ones and there are tons of flaws... but it is ours and we made it together and for that we are super proud.

I would be willing to bet that you would have to point all those flaws out to whom ever is admiring your little jewel.
Nice looking job, and enjoy it.

'Hope you have some nice dry covered storage for that very nice,
but large, [relatively speaking], 'woodie' , to help you keep it in
great condition.

Kudos to the artist of your door art. It's fabulous! Congrats on a great
build and on possessing the vision to commission that door.

Cheers,
Norm/mezmo

Looks nice!
You should be proud.
Keep a very close eye on the joints and skin. Water will never sleep trying to find that little hole to seep in...

Thanks everyone. Your praise means a great deal considering that most of you are the masters of these types of builds.
