Has anyone used Frame World extrusions for a TT?

Postby audioviking » Sat Oct 11, 2014 7:54 am

I've used http://www.frame-world.com and their extrusion products over the years. Great stuff. Big Boy tinker toys! They have 5/16 and 1/4" versions. Tons of fittings and brackets for most applications I have run into.

Just wondering how I could frame the trailer body ( not trailer frame) with this.

Thanks! ..and no, not affiliated with them, just a fan.

hummm... I've run into this stuff before -- used for cabinets for electonics (in combination with thin aluminum plates). I also have seen it used for self standing signs and the like. Love it, but I was always wondered where to get it and AT WHAT PRICE? Never really tried to find it because it looks quite expensive. But it sure is interesting and very nice for electronic enclosures!!

Wiz,

I first ran across the extrusions when I worked on a Nokia phone production line. All of our conveyor system was built out of a European version of this. Since, I 've used FW version for a lot of lab and production uses.

There are still some old pieces and connectors in the garage and attic.. Not sure of current pricing. But not real cheap...

I have built several FOH and DJ booths out of it and have fun building using this stuff. Use a 12" 80 tooth Carbide blade in my compuond miter saw to make precise cuts.

I am about to pull the trigger on a HF 5x8 trailer and am considering this for some of the structural pieces.

Details to follow.
