Finally out there really camping!

Postby fartblossom » Sat Oct 04, 2014 5:48 pm

Spent last night at Johnson Creek state park on Ray Roberts lake north of Dallas. Still not quite done, need to get "electrified" so I don't use an extension cord for everything. Night got down to 50 and I fell in love with my electric blanket.

To steal a line from Jeff Foxworthy, this thing gets more attention than a hooker in church. I gave a lot of "nickle tours".

Nice!...need to drop a 6.0-400hp GTO motor in that Pontiac to make sure it will pull it with ease when loaded down with camping gear.

Love those Solstice's, I'm sure it has plenty of pucky as I think they had up to 260HP from the factory. Happy Camping!

Thanks guys. Redneck, mine has 176 horses and 160 ft lbs of torque, about what most v6's I owned in the early 90's did. When the ecotec wears out I'll drop an LS3 in it, there are 2 or 3 shops around the country that specialize in it. On the other hand, it pulls just fine as is, the tranny is rated to pull 5000 lbs, (same one that is in the older chevy colorados), and I got 20 mpg at 55 on this trip. Pretty economical way to go camping.

Actually got the wife out with me last night! Didn't think that was ever going to happen. :)

47" is a little tight for two people, but was roomier than I expected.

Great job! I had to chuckle when you said it got down to 50 and you "fell in love with your electric blanket" . Must just be a North and South thing.

I have a small art piece that says. They drove south till they could get out without a coat.....we never saw them again.

Enjoy your new trailer, you did a great job. :applause:
