Re: Awning Questions

I have nothing done on my CT yet and I must use it in 10 days for a hunting camp. So I will just get some basics done by then. If i do not drape a tarp over the whole camper to provide a temporary awning for 10 days, then I will try the suggestion for using a cheap tarp and rope if I can get guide rails up in time (as suggested by Corwin C). But afterwards, I will very seriously consider the Sailrite link provide by GuitarPhotog and give Sailrite's stuff a try.

Question:
I see their rails come in 60" max, or is it 48"'. Do not remember, I will go back and check. Do you just mount two together if you want a longer piece? I suppose I need to search some more to answer this question.

I have wanted an awning or awnings for my cargo trailer. I wanted it L shaped, to cover the back and wrap around one side. Just putting a tarp over much of the trailer and extending out where I want it, with adjustable poles, and tie downs... might work just about perfect. :D

I did not know of things like that until this thread… and It did get me thinking of something like that as a nice option. [vs full fledged RV awnings] One problem with those [in my application], I don't get the full wrap around, for an L shape. If I mounted one on the side.. and one at the rear, that corner is "empty" and putting seperate units together, you end up with these spots between the seperate pieces that leak.

There is a company in Brisbane australia that makes an awning that's exactly what you are looking for but the name eludes me at the moment.
It's like 2 awnings in one with the corner filled in.made to go around the side and back of a suv

Here ya go I just found it http://www.supapeg.com.au/
