Can't imagine how much it costs to heat a house with propane in that kind of weather. Keep warm and stay safe!

BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
Thank goodness my heater has not hardly run yet. I have been a great procrastinator and have not even gone out to cut wood. I have gone out as late as Thanksgiving day and cut wood before and it looks like I will again this year. Coming from the northwest and having a history of wood stoves, I just can't seem to get through a winter without the wood burner going.

It is most definitely a shorter, warmer season here though and I am fine with that. I used to always like to see the snow come but it seemed like forever before it left. Now we get a couple of brief snow falls and it is usually gone in one to two days. Just right for me. If I want snow, I can head up towards Flagstaff and if I want warm I can go down to the river.

your comment reminds me of this:
A skydiver is plummeting toward the ground and passes a man on his way up from the ground. He yells:
“Do you know how to open a parachute?”
The person going up yells:
“No! Do you know how to light a pilot?”

Lived in SW Colorado (7000' elev) for 15 years. The worst was running out of kindling to get the fire going in the morning!
Like you, also really liked that you could always accommodate recreation needs by adjusting elevation; I miss that here in Texas. When it is HOT it's just HOT. No escape to cooler elevations.

With the polar blast, we just went from late summer to Texas winter at 6:15 am on Tuesday morning!

Stay safe and warm, y'all!

I heard on the news tonight that it was 25 degrees below zero in Casper, WY.
No, thanks. I'm a bona fide wimp.

San Luis Obispo, CA is beginning to turn chilly. The high today was 71. The low is expected to be 53, with a chance of rain tonight and Thursday. We get snow on the hills maybe once a decade.

Slow has been chastised by myself for a derogatory comment he made towards women. He has decided to delete his posts. I am amazed at the childishness of his actions . I am therefore locking this thread.
