Best Christmas Gift

Postby Vedette » Tue Dec 30, 2014 10:14 pm

Just got home from the USA, where I went today to pick up my ebay purchases from the last month.
Included in these purchases was my new (never used, in the box) Ace Co. Cloverleaf Doughnut Maker!
After seeing Doug Hodder's video in the Cast Iron section back in August ...I had been on the hunt for one of these. Did find two on ebay! And got one!! :applause:
Now to practice up, so we can provide some campground treats at Summer Gatherings??
Happy New Year!

Mmm, waffle dogs for breakfast, and then donuts at coffee time...
Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day; teach a person to use the Internet and they won't bother you for weeks.

New in the box sounds almost too good to be true! I'll bet you are jazzed on that score. I got me a real good condition Griswold # 8 Cast Iron Waffle maker coming from an ebay vendor, can't hardly wait to make waffles for the grandkids. I'll be keep'n my eye's peeled for one of those donut irons. I won't have to ask them if they like donut's...........

Sounds delicious and fun Brian! I really enjoyed Doug's donut video

I need to find a nice vintage waffle iron too. I got one early on but it's kind of small

OK to share my best Christmas gift? A clever friend made this for me. The original cardboard box was 30 years old and falling apart. It was my dad's. My new travel box holds the lantern, two fuel containers, and doubles as a side table or stool to sit on! Looking forward to using it when the weather warms up.

Hi Stacie,

What a great gift you have there - so useful, in multiple ways -
container, transport case, table, stool etc.. It shows that
personally made gifts are truly a gift of part of the maker to
you. A bit of them will always be there with you in that. [ I'm
sure you're well aware of that.] Now you've a new treasure to
hold the older treasure from your Dad ! I'm sure you'll put it
to good use.

Cheers,
Norm/mezmo

I agree mezmo to me Christmas has become too commercialized homemade is always better no matter what it is it shows how much someone lives you because they put their time and love into something for u . That's a real treasure .

Christmas to me is a load of bollocks other than those special touches when humanity surprises me. I don't know who I gave up believing in first santana or jesus but a a commercialized holiday based on either bullshit whatever you believe

Brian...have fun with the donut maker. Don't load it too full as they want to really rise and need the room. Lots of flavors can be done. Doug
