I picked up some acrylic wine glasses, too.

It feels odd to consider myself a glamper but to a certain extent I am. Consider the blue speckleware I've been using since the 80s when I could have been doing like the friends I camp with and using paper plates to toss or burn.

Oops! Sandi just reminded me that our cups got broken on the assault of MT. St. Helens before the road opened for the Summer.
Just another story to tell around the campfire while drinking out of Acrylic?? :wine:
Oh, and "Glamping" is what has mad Teardrop camping so interesting!
So bring it on!

I have been camping with Corelle dishes for the last 30 years or so; I haven't broken one yet. I use travel mugs for coffee, tea, or Whisky. I keep a few Solo cups on hand in case a guest shows up without their own cup. I carry a few paper plates, but those are mostly used for food prep. The dog is high class as he gets stainless steel bowls.

Another vote for Corelle. It's glass, but doesn't break easily. You can usually find some at second hand stores, or Walmart carries the basic white in individual pieces.

I use Melamine plates, but refuse to use a plastic glass (oxymoron) for beer. So I carry real glasses, each in a clean sock. I put the socked glasses in coffee cups, etc for transport where they don't bounce around so much.

During my more then 25 years as a ships Captain we learn to put all the glass stuff in soft sport socks even the hanging wine glasses, Peg tells me we never loss a single thing. For the larger stuff she sewed soft hand towels together. We use the same plan now in the TD so far after over 12,000 miles all is good.

I use plastic plates , bowls etc. ceramic cups that are wrapped in hand towels for travel. The plates and bowls fit in the large pot from my stainless steel cookware. I had difficulty getting food to cook properly on light aluminum pans, and I had the stainless stuff from my bachelor days. The extra mass helps reduce hot spots and cook more evenly. It's not as easy to clean as Teflon, but I don't have worry about it either. It still not that hard to clean.

Hey Charlie
I know one would hate to drink beer out of anything short of a crisp clean beer glass (they taught us that at Budweiser class when I got my official Brew master's card)......but you have got to do what you have got to do while camping.
And remember it is not about the quality of the glass or the beer, but the quality of the friends you are tipping it with! ;)
Can't wait to tip one with you at the Dam (neighbour).

I thought the only way to drink beer is out of a red plastic party cup while standing around the keg in a trash can of ice.

Oh, blast from the past.

I'm really a wine person, and wine is never drunk from a red plastic party cup. Wine comes in clear plastic party cups!

Seriously, though, I drink my wine from the same stoneware mug I drink my coffee from. (And it is fancy, too.) No plastic. Our other dishes are Corelle. Food is packed in plastic for the most part, though.

Since so many parks have "rules" about drinking I decided that a coffee cup, a big one, will hold almost half a bottle of wine and that will do me any way. I do carry a couple of acrilic wine glasses, just in case? A trip to goodwill and have some non breakable plates and I use the "silverwear" from the family picnic basket but usually for just me, I will use paper and a plastic fork, burn the plate and just wash up the fork.

"Since so many parks have "rules" about drinking..."

I would not care to frequent such parks, myself.

But I can't say I've ever encountered one in my part of the world.
