This Week's Camping Countdown

I have been wondering if something like this would work. A special thread on the board where people could talk about gatherings that are less than a week away. Maybe it would be a place that would raise awareness and excitement for the weekend.

I noticed that right now, today there are 7 different gatherings that will be starting within the next 7 days. That seems newsworthy. Possibly a thread devoted to only looking at the next week would be fun.

Gatherings in Nevada and Virginia are on todays calendar. Tomorrow theres one in Colorado and next Friday we have Tennessee, Georgia, Texas and Oregon.

Start your engines A week from now it will be a whole different list.

Am I crazy or would a thread like this work?

Sounds like a neat idea. Maybe include links to the gathering threads for the week just on the chance there are openings for last minute campers to join in. Then they would have all of the contact info available.

Sounds like a good thread to me.....maybe add on to the title, Rob, to indicate Camping Countdown.

I'll try the new title. I was hoping for some participation from people excited to get going.

I know I'm a bit different. I try to be the same but it just never quite works out. I was hoping we could generate some excitement on the board with people talking about their immediate plans to go camping. Maybe people are just too busy.

At least I'm really looking forward to spending April 23-26 at Leslie Gulch at the HooDoo You Do. I've been working on a clam chowder recipe that I hope to perfect on Friday. Please come on out and give it a try.
