Checking out!

Postby prohandyman » Mon Apr 13, 2015 8:21 am

Well after ten years and 30 campers I have decided it is time to sit back and enjoy my senior years a little more. Effective May 1st, the doors will close on the camper shop, and bring a close to a chapter in my life that I have enjoyed immensely. While it was actually more of a hobby than a job (don't tell Laura), I really enjoyed building unique units that I took pride in creating. No two were alike, and I preferred that method over building copies. I think my customers were in the same vein. And it was all because of this forum that the interest took off. Thanks Mike for the foresight and trouble to help generate the desire to camp simpler than a big white box!
I may still dabble a little, and still have a customer base for vintage camper repairs, but most of the wood working machinery was sold this weekend, and the rental building will be vacated on the 1st, so "dabbling" will be minimal.
Now...lets get on with camping. Which is why we all do this in the first place, isn't it?
Oh and I still have another full time job so boredom will not be allowed!

Dan,
30 campers and a decade of work/advice gives you quite a respectable reputation with us! 8) You keep on dabbling.....and enjoy the extra time off to spend with Laura
and GO CAMPING :vroom:

Dan,

It is going to take some getting used to...this calling you a senior thing ;)

Well, Dan I sure can't call you a "senior" since I know I've got seniority on you in age! Thanks for your help, your advice, and the great Hoosier Tearjerker gatherings. Have fun, don't work too hard!

Congratulations on 10 years of success and 30 beautiful campers! Enjoy your retirement and keep camping!

It would be great if you made a slide show with a picture of each of those beautiful campers and then posted the Internet address here. We'd enjoy that and I think you and your family would enjoy the slide show, too.

Thanks. Kurt got the last Whetzedorf, and I tossed the profile pattern in the trash.

Hey, Dan!

I'd say "welcome to the ranks of the retired!", but I see you say you're still working a "full time" job ... :? C'mon, man ... take the plunge! ... the water's fine ... :D ...!

Seriously, though ... congrats! You've done yourself and the lifestyle proud, and you've helped countless enthusiasts along the way ... it doesn't get any better than that!

Now ... maybe you can get away and attend a Dam Gathering! Head West, young man ... ...! As always, my Friend ...
