Bro,

I just don't think I can bear the thought. I got out of the computer field because I tired of the technology treadmill. :sweaty: I'm not doing anything so fancy that I see any reason to switch to a whole new OS. I'd have to relearn everything. I've used Macs before, as far back as the windows 3.x days when the Mac was the far superior OS. About 6-7 years ago I got my wife one of those cute little white cube Macs. I fiddled with it a little, but gave it up.

I'm trying to save what few "new computing" brain cells that are left for Arduino.

Besides, all the CNC stuff (CAD, CAM and machine control) is on windows.

Thanks for the thought!
I'll burn that bridge when I come to it.

Ha ! I got into microcomputers back in the late 70's so I could replace an old punch-tape DEC PDP-8 loaded with Strippet & Amada CNC punch press programming sw. Learning new OS's becomes a way of life since they insist on making new ones but they are just means to an end. At their core they are all the same but the interface has less or more capability and allows less or more control along with more or less bugs.

I have used & programmed them all Assembly, CP/M, MP/M, NetWare, Unix, Linux, Win, various Apple OS, Android and all their variants. Whatever floats your yacht Tony. I can understand that some folks need a company & OS to take the load off the end user but allow as some prefer to have more control over the various processes that Apple want to take away. Sorry, I was the type of guy who issued you a Win puter, although I would never give out laptops to the rank and file unless the user traveled for the job  Laptops are for travel, desktops are for production. :throw PC:

Good luck with your Arduino. Always fun to play with new toys and there are always new toys to be had. If you have not looked at it, the FireTV stick is a lot of fun & profitable to hack for $35, especially if you are in Prime and like to stream entertainment.

EDIT: Snorkle = cruising along on the surface checking out the view [there is a hellaceous amount of free software reviewed and discussed there, way too much to try em all]
