Are their any artists out there?

I am asking my wife to pint some mural type scenic painting in certain locations in the trailer. She is not excited to paint on plywood itself. We discussed getting some canvas fabric and add that to the panels. Then I thought of the canvas gluing many TD'rs here do. And the photos they post seem to show a canvas type texture especially using cloths like the HF drop cloths.

My question therefore is, do you artists on the forum believe that the glued canvas and texture will be ok for her to paint nature scenes on?

Of course, cut the canvas the size you want then glue it on you can use wood trim to put around it for a frame .

Mary's and GPW's replies are all I need. I will pick up some cheap drop cloth at HF the next time I am there.

Howdy, Yes on the canvas not so much on drop cloths. Canvas drop cloths may work but you just never know if they are treated with anything that will cause problems down the road. I would look to see if they have any kind of water proofing or bleaching etc. You can always go to a fabric, craft or art store and get some cheep raw canvas by the yard. You might want to use removable wallpaper glue so you can take the paintings with you should you ever sell the TD. The canvas will need a couple of coats of acrylic gesso (primer for paintings) so the paint will have a good ground. Although if she uses acrylic paint it won't be as critical. I am pushing her to get started, but she reminds me that I first have to build the panels. And we were going to go to our local craft store, Michael's to look for canvas also. And thanks for the PM offer.
