The inside of the Texas build and Green Lantern builds were a whoppin, 5ft 3 in. While this is no standie height, I can slouch comfortably and I'm 6 ft tall. I see it just the opposite. The luxury of standing is just wasted space and tow drag. 5ft 3 in. allows me to stand and pull up my pants - for Mrs starleen2, she's under 5 ft tall - so it's a standy for her!

Slow, check out this Kampmaster. This is the finest example I have ever seen. But if the sides on yours are 5" tall then with the hatch up, it should be almost 8' tall from the floor of the trailer to the underside of the hatch. All you need to do is figure out where your hatch goes to see how high the clearance is.

I have always loved the Goose/Kampmaster design and figured it might be a "slouchy" but that's ok. My '68 Scotty is just barely enough for me to stand straight up in it and that is possible with the drop floor, I wonder if a drop floor could be integrated in the design? My drop floor is in the middle and it might cause dragging problems if it was in the back for a teardrop, not sure but if/when I ever build another teardrop style camper it will be a Wild Goose, it's just so cool even if you do have to slouch a bit.

I was curious about how usable they are when closed up. Just wondering if in cold weather you can snug down to sleep, or in severe thunderstorm weather if you've got inbound, put the hatch down and hunker down.

It is a 6' wide with the bed being sideways from a typical teardrop. When the hatch is down, you still have the side door and it's as usable as any other teardrop in the rain I would think. I would think your choice of canvas material would be able to flop over an open mesh with a solid sheet to keep out rain and cold and in severe weather pop the hatch down and start a movie.
