Airstream Acquires "Nest Caravans"

Postby AZ_Desert_Rat » Fri May 27, 2016 12:47 pm

Hi all,
Just read a recent article in June 2016 Trailer Life magazine where Airstream Acquired "Nest Caravans". Nest Caravans is a small company in Bend, Oregon that builds small compact trailers. The pic in the magazine makes the trailer look automobile-like and streamlined; this cute little trailer may interest those wanting in a small fiberglass trailer... Just thought the article was interesting and would let you know... 8)

Just adding a bit more...
A quick Google Search for Nest Caravans exhibits quite a few sites and youtube shows a nice little video... and The Small Trailer Enthusiast had a great article and inside photos as well...

BTW, I am in no way affiliated with the Nest or anyone mentioned above, just adding the trailer info...

I'm guessing the Nest developers breathed a huge sigh of relief to be bought by Airstream. They had a beautiful design but seemed undercapitalized and without a clear path forward on how to market their design or even the potential demographic. Who might be purchasing their very small, $30,000 trailer? Airstream is a perfect fit.

It was interesting watching the Happier Camper and the Nest as they developed at about the same time -- similar sized fiberglass trailers but heading in opposite directions in terms of form and function.
