Now what ?

Postby Kaz » Mon Sep 05, 2016 1:42 pm

Just finished our last of three planned trip for the season. :( Managed to make it to Shenandoah/Skyline drive Virginia , Tear up the ADK 2016 upstate NY and finish it out in Burlingame State park, RI. The camper has past the 2season test with flying colors, with only moisture leaks after 70mph rain for hours. Those keep me busy in the garage when I get bored. Maybe some gutter around the doors this winter. Nothing broke and needs nothing in repair's. Living in New England limit's the camping season. I have no heat for cold weather unless I camp somewhere that has electricity and no A.C. which limits how far west I can go. So it is now the planning stages for next season. Fingers crossed for a fall foliage trip.132997

Headed to Shenandoah next week in my Teardrop for a few nights. Where did camp where you were there? I plan to stay a few nights at Loft Mountain campground but have some open nights to stay elsewhere.

Hey, in Michigan here, we're adding an electric blanket, a 200w space heater, and I want to take the wifey on a fall colors tour of the U.P.

Then this winter mines going ice fishing with me!

thinking about doing tip up town, setup the camper by the shore, and chase the tip ups from there!

Who says theres a camping season?
My build, 5x8 modified benroy "Smiles to go". Started April 2nd 2015, first trip August 2nd 2015.

Kaz:

We use a 12V electric blanket to pre-heat the bed. It's got a timer that shuts off after 45 minutes and we've been known to cycle it a couple of times after snuggling in. They're cheap... the challenge is finding the bigger ones.

and no A.C. which limits how far west I can go
I'm scratching my head. Are you talking about camping in the midwest or thee west? We don't have AC in ours and have never really felt we needed it camping here in the rockies. (I was in WV last week doing a bit of teaching and the high-humid heat about killed me... so I get that!)

Just camp in the timber! And take your "blanky."

I stayed at Big Meadows. Did not like it, wish I had gone to Loft Mountain. Enjoy it's beautiful scenery.

Nice to see the diehards. I think if I went to Colorado I'd never leave.
