Fellow Veterans - Free access to Federal Lands

Postby flboy » Fri Dec 04, 2020 2:19 pm

Hi all... in case you were not aware of a recent change since October 28,2020 (thank you President Trump), please see the link below. I recently discovered this and had my State Drivers License updated with Veteran Status by simply providing my DD-214 (official copy) so DMV could make a copy. From what I understand, this is equivalent to having the Interagency Annual or Senior Pass (lifetime) by simply providing the Veteran ID at the gate. It is A nice benefit. I am sure I will be taking advantage of this soon.

Fellow Veterans, thank you for your Service!

I had posted this over on the Cargo Trailers thread, but thought maybe others might not see it there. Best Wishes!

Thank you for pointing this out Don. I'd missed it.

Been buying annual inter-agency passes for the past ten years. I'll have to figure out how to get my status annotated on my driver's license.

Jan of this year, I walked in to the DMV to have mine re-newed, showed a copy of my DD-214 (from about 45 years ago/1973-76 active duty time) they than did the eye test - took my picture and I got my 'latest' up-date 'License' with the word "Veteran" printed in the lower right corner. :applause: have used it "many-a-time" so far since for the 'senior' discount when buying many things.

Yes.. it is nice. Just got 10% of my purchase at Home Depot for being a veteran. Already saving me money. I like it.

kind of feel like I'm 'hy-jacking' off this subject here again -but- this being a 'Veteran' thing - if anyone has a "Coastal Farm Supply' store in your area - yesterday I used one of their December coupons that come with their yearly 'give away' calendar's on the purchase of a Coleman griddle ($27) The coupon was for 40% off any one item under $40 for the month of December 2020. I ended up getting it for $13.50 !!!! I got the %40 off "plus" another %10 off for the veteran status = %50 off !!  :applause:
