Still working our way through Virginia! On and off the MABDR several times on this run, yet not one section of any of it has disappointed. What a great drive!
Been working on a video for 3 months that my computer doesn't want to save. I cut it in half to make a 2 part series. Part 2 is ready but part 1 is fighting me. So in the mean time I've been uploading a few "shorts" . Hope you enjoy. https://youtu.be/bTlx1TOIFok
The heat & humidity was getting to us and we 'needed' to get to weather better suited to us. That took driving to PA! We will go back and explore deeper because it was just that kind of beauty! I do so love running the Byways of this country!
We returned home and had to get out to the Ocean for a good solid cool down! This part is Maine coast below Freeport (where LL Bean is). We have 3 campgrounds to check out on this run and explore a bit in the area. 2 being State owned and 1 is a Community Park. Maine's State parks are First Come/First Serve at the end of the season, so it's easier to get a site on the fly. End of season is also less crowded!
We've traveled through here so much that we tend to skip the Old Orchard Beach area.. Summer it can be nts with crowds, balance it's mostly closed up shops.. Past two years mostly closed up shops!
This campground is across the Narrows from Acadia NP (Mt Dessert Island) and far less crowding! Loved the fields by the water to hang in and the docks to fish from. We'll be back to this one again!
Been working on this video for 4 months. Something my computer didn't like. Had to chop it down to 4 mins. This is chasing down a childhood memory of a 4wd trip one of my relatives took us on. Boy things changed in this area. Here it is. Skyline Drive series # 3. https://youtu.be/GCD4Uk_6bJE
This is a section of dirt that leads up into Northern NH. We've tried for years to catch the color up in the backcountry and only a couple times have been there at the right time. It goes quick up there! This year we caught it!
There is one 3/4 mile section that does require higher clearance and picking your lines. Other than that spot, it's a nice old logging road.
