Married life

Postby Wrecit » Wed Aug 17, 2022 9:48 pm

5 trips to the paint store to pick out the perfect color to paint our trailer. I bought just a quart and will be painting a 2 ft by 2 ft sample to make sure wife approves.

Used grey primer out of a rattle can tonight to prep the test panel so it will be dry and ready for paint tomorrow. Wife walks into my shop and yells "oh my God! That color is so beautiful! Is that the color we are painting the trailer!"

Going to still paint the sample but got a sinking feeling my trailer is going to end up being primer grey......someone shoot me lol

Shoulda took the wife to the paint store. Eliminate 4 trips but probably spend an hour there.
Some of these newer cars look like primer with a clearcoat.

My old paint store had a sign behind the counter that said......Husbands Can Not pick colors without a note from their wife.

So maybe grey on the bottom, white on top, with a primary colored stripe (red?) in the middle, between the two colors? There have been a few like that. Do you two talk to each other? Couldn't you just discuss colors?

Indeed.

The late, great Paul Harvey would call 48 years a good start.

Maybe my wife is a saint. :)

She doesn't care about the color, size, features, anything about the teardrop. I guess maybe I should feel lucky in a way, but it would be nice to have a companion once in a while on camping trips. She's spent one night in the thing since it was road worthy in 2016.

We built our tear together. Shelly let me build up our wood shop so I could do the wood working required. "I let" (hah!) Shelly roll on the Monsta Liner. How did we pick the color? Our Taco picked it for us.

We were redoing our bathroom (home, not camper) and I had narrowed it down to about a dozen wall colors to choose from. While hanging the sheetrock, my husband decided that the purple-gray paper on the sheetrock was just about right for our walls. In spite of all my reasonable arguments, he insisted on a color as close to that as possible.

Not what I'd planned, but I've grown to love our purple-gray walls!

Want a real challenge? Try and get your wife and her mother-in-law to choose a color to paint the spare bathroom; the one Mom only sees once every few months anyway.

Has to be done. We replaced a 60 year old broken florescent light fixture over the mirror with a modern LED one this Spring, and couldn't match the foot print (wall print?)

Mom doesn't like change, so she wants it painted the same color. Fine! We'll match it as close as possible. That color is either pink (Shelly's vote), gray (my vote), or white (Mom's vote). (The color changes depending on lighting, go figure!) I think we settled on a particular shade of off-white, but by tomorrow it might be different! :?

Right now--I'm procrastinating, by whining on tnttt--but I should be washing 40 years of grime and mold off of the ceiling and walls.
