You hide your conversion and call it stealth. I put mine out in the open and give it a beer.

The Flux Capacitor appeals to Gen X (1965-1980) more than to me, from the Boomer I (1946-1954) generation https://www.beresfordresearch.com/age-range-by-generation/; I was 35 when the movie featuring it appeared, and didn't even see the movie until I was in my mid-forties, so it made little impact on me.

However, I was always impressed by the "Interocitor" device after I watched the movie "This Island Earth" multiple times,

whenever it would pop-up as a second feature on the bill, when I would walk miles to the nearest theatre (with brothers in tow, and accompanied by other kids from the neighborhood) to watch movies on Saturday mornings/afternoons. The girls would love the Elvis movie that was top-billed over my favorite second feature, a Western or Science Fiction movie. I followed this routine from 1957-1963, from age seven to thirteen (when my focus shifted to sports and cars). Those early years were something not repeatable in today's America...no group of small children would be sent off to the movies, miles away, with no one in the group over 13 or so, by any responsible parent.

But, back to the Flux Capacitor...I did have a sticker on the rear window of my old '86 S-10, back in '95 or so, when I was experimenting/modifying it as a retired daily driver turned "project car". After I found the sticker at a novelty shop, I went to a movie rental place, and got the movie to watch, finally. But, there were no "Interocitor" stickers (which I would've preferred), as I've found little or no recognition of the "This Island Earth" movie by friends, relatives, or anyone over the years, as I stated in this thread about my decals/stickers/signage fetish. https://www.tnttt.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=70553&hilit=+interocitor#p1231963

There are many other fictional devices I've learned of, like all the variants of the Turbo-Encabulator, et al., but the "Flux Capacitor" is probably the best known. I actually saw a Delorean with a simulated one onboard, at a car show.
