Where to find cargo netting.

Postby GeorgeT » Fri Mar 11, 2005 2:11 pm

I want to use cargo netting in place of some cabinet doors but don't have a clue as to where I can find the stuff. Anyone? thanks, George

Try any auto parts store, or maybe JC Whitney online.

West Marine sells tiny cargo hammocks. I have a couple hung in my sailboat and I plan to use them in my tear as well

I hate to state the obvious, but why not try your local Army-Navy surplus store? I'll bet you can get significantly more square feet of material than what I saw on the website for $16 each.

Seattle fabrics has cargo net on this page:
http://www.seattlefabrics.com/mesh.html

5000 Cargo Net
Wide nylon. Large 1" or 2" holes.
Uses: Sport screens, gear lofts, storage bags, etc.
Width: 6'-12'
Colors: Call us at (206)535-0670 or email us for colors, widths and prices
$10.00-$14.00/yd

You would need edge banding tape and bungees but to outfit a whole trailer it would save a lot of money over the pre-made ones. Add a lot of work though!

Thanks for the link. I bookmarked it. That's the stuff I was looking for. I like your Chalet! Very cool! Saw the netting storage in your camper. Kinda what I had in mind too except I want smaller netting which they have on the site you linked to. My wife is a very good seamstress. She should be able to handle the netting. She's making all the curtains and mattress covers and stuff for our camper. Thanks again and great pics in your album. :ok: George
