now about tha deal,,stopped in at Home Depot to pick up hardware and check on a/c units,,waiting on them to go on sale!!!!and they were,,dang they were sold out except for one slightly dusty 5000btu floor unit left,,tagged at 55.95 clearance,,asked manager if thats the best price,,since it was dusty and out of box,,she let me have the dang thing for $40.00 bucks,,now I know its the end of hot weather soon but Ill pay 40.00 to watch hybrid grass grow,,crossing off another thing on the list

Mike, on your trailer, that big grill on the side is the vent for an a/c unit?

Now you all have me worried about not having a/c.... heat is easy, but a/c takes more planning...

I write this hoping Mike might see it here... and because it is about a/c.

Arne,,The a/c was a requirement of my construction advisor,,,agreed its hot as heck down south in summer and humidity is a whole matter in itself,,In Ct your ;needing a/c season, is gonna be shorter than mine,,If I didnt have to have it I would just go to a cool place to camp during the summer,,its bulky, takes up space, adds weight, and limits ya to being close to a power source,,oh well she happy I happy,,,

The grill on the side is indeed for the a/c. Half is for the air intake, and the other half is the exhaust.

I've found in practice, that I can only run the a/c on low. On high I'm just not getting enough intake air. I took off the inside panel and that seemed to solve the problem.

So on my next design I am keeping the intake air requirements in mind.
You've probably seen many of the a/c ideas I've been working on in this thread. http://tnttt.com/viewto ... c&start=30

My favorite one so far is this one...

You can make the grill as wide as necessary in the front to get in as much intake air as you need. The front cabinet provides the structural support for the a/c. Will it impact tongue weight? Certainly. I'll know more once I buy a unit and set it in the front of the Weekender.

Mike...

Realizing the interior specs of a t/d, I have already included a vent/fan for the roof, and an interior oscillating fan mounted as far back/top as I can get it.

I'm a bit concerned about the hidden wiring, so will have to plan carefully..
