I do it all old school....paper, scale, triangles and a french curve. Just draw up something to scale that has good curb appeal to you so that the top doesn't look like it's tacked on as an afterthought. At least that's my approach.
I also insulate the tops, although not as much as the rest of the roof. You need to remember that the inside won't be as large as it appears on the exterior with insulation, important when wanting to install any portholes or windows in it. Allow enough lift to fit any openings and still allow some material around them. The aft end of a trolley top is a great place to hide a fantastic fan. Just what I've found. Doug
