window thickness

Postby droid_ca » Wed Mar 02, 2011 1:03 pm

as I live in the Great White North I have to go with thicker walls and insulation I know it'll add weight but thats not my concern all I have found for windows varies from 1 inch to 1.5 inch wall thickness as I'd like to go just a tad thicker are there any other options for window trims for up here in Canada where we can go a little thicker to extend our camping season

thanks in advance

Just build your window framing to the required thickness. The inside trim would be recessed into the wall a little. Trim the interior opening with corner moulding to dress it up.

You could make your own window frames and make them double pane/ triple pane with plexiglass or lexan, just an idea.....
