Of course I while I was out running errands I stumbled upon something else today that may be of interest to Forum members.
While at Costco (Norwalk, CA) I came across this solar product. And of course I am challenged when it comes to stuff like this, but I thought this could be used on the t & ttt's.
They have a website, www.goalzero.com. Of course this is a temporary display at Costco and no prices available until the rep came back. The "Boulder" solar panel at Costco price $99 regular $150. the power pack Costco price $159.99 (don't remember the regular price). They have several different products on display, "light a life" led light, "nomad" solar panel-portable solar panel you can attach to your backpack. Small solar reading light stick and "rockout" speakers.
Kind of interesting stuff.

HOLY CATS that stuff is expensive - $14/watt for a 7 watt solar panel! Its pretty expensive compared to a poly-silicone type panel. I bet it would be great for backpacking though.

They, or similar are being used by the military to cut down on the weight carried by soldiers in the form of batteries. I have seen them used for recharging video camera batteries in wilderness video taping.
But Ya really expensive.
