every time you flll up with ethanol gas thank algore and the carbon-myth hype, now we are stuck with it thanks to the fact Iowa votes for pres. primary first. Gonna take some real guts for congress to cut this latest farm subsidy. If you believe in the carbon stuff growing corn to make fuel adds more carbon than it cuts from the car tailpipe.
You can also thank a lot of the recent problems in the world (libya, yemen, etc.) on high food prices thanks to American farmers no longer growing food corn, we pay more.... the rest of the world is hungry....and that is when wars start...

To my way of thinking if the difference between $3.50/gallon of gas and $2.50/gallon makes it to where you can't enjoy your camper you probably couldn't afford the camper to begin with.

I hear a lot of griping about the price of gas - but when I travel I see just as many campers. I see just as many guys leaving the boat dock on weekends in 38' Fountains with triple and quad 300 horsepower motors on them as well. Sure they gripe about the price of gas but they are still out there doing it.

I say get the saddle horse out and hitch him to a cart hook the teardrop to that and go camping to get to town to buy grocerys.

I bet by horse power and teardrop camping I can go to town and back 24 miles to buy grocerys in less than 4 days time!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But you will be warm and comfey during those overnights in the teardrop!

Somehow I see you welding cross supports to the trailer tongue and installing a triple tree set up , to hitch a couple horses to the teardrop
Growing older but not up !

another big problem with ethanol for airplanes (piston) they have aluminum cylinder heads and pistons, the ethanol causes detonation which eats the top layer of aluminum until it eats right through. Ethanol also eats gaskets and seals not made to face such a corrosive fuel. ( why cars have plastic fuel lines ) Some state laws are forcing all fuels to use ethanol, Racers are also finding this a problem.

Mercury Marine (The people who make mercury outboard engines etc...) sent out a letter last year to owners and dealers stating that if gasoline moved to 15% ethanol over the 10% now Mercury would no longer provide warranty work on any outboard engines.

Now tell me that's good for your car.

I'm lucky in that I live just outside the mandated ethanol zone and can buy straight gasoline. It's very popular here at the marinas and gas stations leading to the marinas for people to get gas for boats who live in the ethanol zone.

that right there is part of the pump cost of gas, there are almost 15 different gas formulas required by federal law, imagine the headache it is to supply the correct truckloads to the correct gas stations, paperwork is multiplied many times over by this $$$. They also must keep it in different tanks $$$ , and keep it seperate in the pipelines $$$$$ (most can't handle the ethanol so it must be trucked or barged $$$$$)
Every cost added to the process and every tax added to the "big oil companies" is paid for by the person looking back at you in the mirror.... $>
